We are delighted that the international conductor Emmanuel Siffert has agreed to become our Principal Guest Conductor.

Born in Switzerland, Emmanuel Siffert was originally a violinist with the Camerata Academia Salzburg  He was  Principal Conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra in Quito, Ecuador for three seasons, the European Chamber Opera, London and the Orchestra Sinfonica Aosta, Italy.  He works on regular base with the Swiss Chamber Orchestra and continues to work with major orchestras throughout the world. These include the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Mozart Players, Welsh National Opera Orchestra, Rundfunksinfonieorchester Saarbrücken, Mexico City Orchestra of European Chamber Opera,and the Nürnberger Philharmoniker,
His radio recordings include Rundfunksinfonieorchester Saarbrücken (live), Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana (live and studio recordings) and the Swiss Chamber Orchestra (live).

Emmanuel is also involved as a teacher of conducting and gives classes in opera scenes for singers in various summer academies. The WCO was proud to take part in the First ‘Opera Conducting Course’ in Wales with Emmanuel. The course director was Patricia O’Neill.
